Brutalist-Inspired Café

A Sensory Experience

This café interior concept is inspired by Brutalist architecture, characterized by raw materials, simplicity, and spatial depth. The space is designed to offer more than just visual appeal—it encourages reflection, interaction, and appreciation of detail, creating an experience that goes beyond the surface.

The client approached me with a clear desire for a café that feels raw, grounded, and emotionally quiet—an interior that reflects solitude, focus, and intentional stillness. They were drawn to the Brutalist aesthetic, particularly the honesty of exposed materials and the absence of decorative excess.

Layout & Spatial Experience
- The layout balances comfort and function with two main seating types: low bench seating for casual, slow-paced visits, and higher tables with chairs for working or quick coffee breaks.

- The coffee counter is a main feature, designed with a clean backdrop that includes the café’s name—perfect for photos and brand presence. Beside the counter, a discreet entrance leads to the sweet lab, ensuring smooth back-of-house circulation.
